Dear Parents and Carers
Year 7 Welcome Mass
Thursday 6th October 2016 at 7pm
We have enjoyed an excellent start to the year and we are delighted that our new Year 7 students have settled so quickly into our College.
I have already heard many positive comments from their teachers about their attitude to learning in lessons and their appearance and manners are a credit to you.
Each year at this time we have a Year 7 Welcome Mass where we officially welcome our new students and their families into our College. Our Year 7 students participate in the Mass itself and we receive very positive feedback from parents and carers. Occasionally parents express concern that they are not familiar with the Mass. Please do not worry if you are not from the Catholic tradition as parents always comment on how they have enjoyed the evening even if they have not been to Mass previously.
After the Mass there will be light refreshments provided and you will have a chance to “touch-base” with your child’s form tutor and hear how they have settled into our College. It is not a Parents’ Evening and form tutors will not have information about your child’s academic progress at this point. There is a review day later this term on Friday 18th November when this will happen.
We do hope you can join us on this evening. It has always proved to be a very popular event.
